A pink supermoon has just arrived in the night sky -- for your viewing pleasure. Read an interesting article about it here:
https://www.livescience.com/how-to-watc ... rmoon.html
It will still be full tomorrow (Wednesday) night.

Quote from https://www.nasa.gov/topics/moon-to-mars/overview

"NASA wants to use the Moon’s unique perspective as a science platform to look back at the Earth, observe the Sun, and view the vast universe."

Might this include a giant telescope?

How about smaller telescopes for amateur astronomers who can afford the trip? Would there be a way that they could get the same sensation of immersion possible on Earth by putting their eye close to an eyepiece?

According to
https://eos.org/articles/the-mystery-of ... ing-metals ,
the Moon lacks precious metals. That good news to me. Otherwise,
greedy members of our species might ruin its surface by digging for
gold.
