I'm a little surprised it hasn't been mentioned on this forum yet, but there's currently a very accessible supernova in NGC 6946. SN 2017eaw is in the high 12.x magnitude range, so it can easily be seen in a modest amateur telescope. I've spotted it twice in the past week with a 13.1-inch dob without much difficulty. Here's Bob King's online Sky & Telescope article about it, with finder charts, etc. Catch it before it fades!
